The Derryfield Country Club Women’s Twilight League – 2008

As a Derryfield Country Club (“DCC”) member, you are invited to join the DCC Women’s Twilight League in 2008. Handicaps are required.

Subs: If your schedule does not allow you to make a weekly commitment (of 6 - 8 weeks) to be part of a team, we encourage you to sign up as a sub. In the past, many subs have been able to play on a weekly basis if their schedule allows.

SPRING LEAGUE: May 7 through June 25 (for 8 weeks)

When: Wednesday afternoons… 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm

Format: Match play for 9 holes

Sign-Up Options: Download the form at 2008 Twilight League Sign Up Form, or sign up in the DCC Pro Shop.

Deadline: Sunday, April 13th.

Cost: $12

Upon ($$$) commitment to play, look for printed schedule and session information at the DCC locker computer area by Wednesday, April 23.

Opening Day League Scramble: There will be an Opening Day League Scramble on Wednesday, April 30^th - weather permitting. This will give you an opportunity to meet your Spring League team members. Team Captains will organize the meeting time. This scramble will not impact team standings. (Reminder: This event is specifically for the DCC Twilight League. It is separate from the DCCWA Opening Day Scramble.)

We will use up until June 25^th as needed for scheduled rain make-up dates. If we don’t need the rain dates please plan on coming to play amongst ourselves for a fun night of stroke play!

Ø POSTING: All matches should be posted on the sheet after completing your match. All matches must be

posted no later than the Sunday following. Zeros will be given to each player in the match if posting does not occur.

Ø FORMAT: Match Play – 1 POINT given for each hole won; a hole can be halved. If you have questions

Ø RAIN: League will not be cancelled before 2:00 pm on Wednesday, at that time members may call the Pro-Shop for questionable play. If cancelled, the cited match will occur on the first available “rain date” on the schedule.

In the event of rain and League has not been cancelled, before or during your match you are obligated to complete the match, unless your opponent concedes the match or the remaining holes. You or your opponent cannot just decide to not do the match or end the match because of the rain. However, if the Pro-Shop blows the horn, the match will be (determination on that day) halted/cancelled. If cancelled, the remaining holes will be halved (as will the points).

Ø OPPONENT Does Not Show: You will get a minimum of 6 points and post 0 for your opponent. You mustwait 30 minutes from agreed match time, unless opponent has already called. You may play nine holes “against the course” to add to your 6 points to a maximum of 9 points.

Ø You MUST post all 9-hole scores for handicap purposes. In the event of “hole concession” (to speed play), you take the score you would most likely get on that hole for posting.

Ø A STARTER will be at the first hole between 3:45 pm – 6:00 pm to help send people out. When both you and your opponent has arrived; notify the starter he will pair you with another twosome if necessary.
