Hello Everyone,
I want to give a quick update on what’s going on with Derryfield and all that has been happening.
So, it’s still crazy busy at the course. I know many have tried to get tee times and have been told we are booked until 7 pm. That’s correct information… we are booked every day from 6 am-7 pm! So please use your ability to get tee times in. If you wait, they will be gone. Also, if for some reason you can’t make it please give us a call. We get a call for tee times every 5 minutes. We will fill it up if you can’t make it. This should change as we get closer to July. Many businesses will be opening back up and people will be headed back to work. Starting July 1st, we will change to 10 minute tee times, this will allow us to add 1 tee time an hour throughout the day.
Member participation has been great for the events so far. Tomorrow, we start off the weekend with the DCC Women’s Memorial. On the 20th, the NHGA will be conducting the State Team Championship. Derryfield will be well represented with 7 teams. The women are back at it with their SURPRISE Tournament on June 21st. I heard it might be a pretty good surprise…so don’t miss out. We have a change in the format of the Men’s Summer Member -Member. It will be a 2 man round-robin event in flights. It will begin Friday afternoon July 17th and finish on Sunday, July 19th. This is the same format that we usually have in the spring member -member. In the words of Bobby Proulx, “This is a Major”.
The Ladies Monday Twilight League begins this week with over 30 participants. This 10-week program will be a great way to have a little competition in a relaxed format.
I want to congratulate Marc Morin and Karl Ludwig in there Epic comeback win in the Red Ryan Half Century. Sunday, they grinded out the best score of the day to slip by Pete Rice and Tim Sullivan.
My goal is to try to keep you updated as best we can as things change in the golf world. We are now allowing 2 people per cart. If for any reason, you are not comfortable with this, we will allow you to take a cart by yourself. We will continue to conduct best business practices as set by the state of New Hampshire and its guidelines.
