I hope you are all well and safe. It’s great to see everyone that’s been able to get out and enjoy the weather we have been having. It’s been a warm hot stretch this season. Jeff and his limited crew have done a remarkable job keeping the course in great shape. If you happen to see him out there, please thank him. It’s been a tough go for everyone, trying to keep up.
As everyone has probably noticed, the course has continued to be very busy. Tee times are still at a premium. If you don’t make a tee time in advance you will have a hard time finding one. For business, it’s a nice problem to have, but for our members, it can be difficult to get the exact tee time that you might want. Please understand we will do our best to get you time, but it may take some flexibility on your part.
Starting on July 1st, we will be going to 10 minute tee times. This will add one tee time per hour and hopefully free up some more times for the members to play.
It has been a great season for the Derryfield members in 2020. For the NHGA Club Team Championship held at Derryfield, we took both 1st Gross and Net honors. The team of Matt Burroughs, Kyle Badger, Lance Pelley, and Austin Fox won the Gross Division at 13 under. Jeff Duval, Kyle Sullivan, Pete Tagalakis, and Dustin Moreault won the Net at 18 under par. Congrats to everyone!
I was lucky enough to get to play with the ladies in a Beat the Pro Surprise tournament. Many of them took it easy on me and I really appreciate them letting me get out and enjoy the day.
We have many member events coming up in July.
July 11th will be the women’s member/member. Next, the men will have the summer member/member that will be a 3-day event starting on Friday the 17th. It will take on the spring member/member format of five 9-hole matches throughout the weekend. Then on July 25th, we will be having the mixed combine quota event. This event will be a combination of one male and one female player. At least one player must be a member of Derryfield CC.
We will be taking teams for all the above events starting today. If you want to play, please make sure to come in and sign up.
